Daily MakeUp Routine

I recently purchased the Sony DSC-H400 as I really wanted a good blogging camera. The camera I usually use is actually my boyfriends and seeing as we don't live together I don't always have access to it. I am hoping the quality of the photos won't be too affected as I am moving from using a DSLR to a Bridge camera. The only issue I have noticed so far is that the auto focus is a bit more troublesome than focusing manually especially for up close detailed shots. I went ahead and took some photos today to test the camera and I think that they turned out pretty well. I am not too used to photographing such up close shots but I did my best to get some nice(ish) images!!
Anyways onto the main focus of this post! I am not too experimental when it comes to makeup and pretty much stick to the same products until they run out. So here is a look inside my makeup bag.

I firstly apply the Revlon Nearly Naked all over my face with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. This foundation gives a lightweight coverage but is buildable. I much prefer using a brush over my hands as I feel that they give a more flawless application.

I then apply my Inglot concealer in Shade 91 underneath my eyes, on my chin and on my forehead with the Real Techniques Beauty Blender to brighten those areas. This concealer again is pretty lightweight and for that reason i would not recommend it if you need a full coverage concealer! It also tends to crease a little under my eyes but I find that most concealers do! (if you have any recommendations for under eye concealers please let me know!)

I powder my face using the Inglot Translucent Powder. This power looks yellow in the pot however it appears translucent on the skin! I am not so sure if it helps my foundation last any longer but it certainly does dull down the excess shine caused by the dewy foundation!

I apply the lightest colour from my Crown Brush Concealer pallet all over my eyelids. I prefer to use a concealer on my eyelids than a primer as I have some discolouration on my lids that I like to cover. I don't find that this concealer creases once set with a eyeshadow!

I really do not like going to dramatic with my eye makeup as illustrated by the above products! These tend to be my go to eyeshadows no matter what the occasion. I use the nude colour all over my lid, the white colour as a highlight along my brow bone and to add depth I add milkchocolate by natural collection to my crease!  If I want a more dramatic look I simply add more of the brown colour to my crease and add some winged liner!

For cheeks I like to use this Rimmel Blush in Santa Rose and for highlight MAC's Soft & Gentle. Both products work pretty well and give a nice glow to the cheeks!

I am really loving nude lips at the moment especially with brownish undertones and this Lip Pencil from Inglot is the lip product i have been reaching for at the moment. I really like the colour of this lip pencil however it is quite drying on the lips and doesn't have a great lasting power so I end up having to reapply it quite often throughout the day!

Finially for my brows I use this pencil from Rimmel to both darken and fill in my brows. I then set everything in place with my Catrice Brow Gel. I finish the look with my Clinique high impact mascara. I absolutely love this mascara and honestly think that it is one of the best I have ever tried. The best thing is that it doesnt cost me a cent as it comes as a freebie in most Clinique gift bags that my mum gets! Love a good freebie I do!

Neutral Tones

So for today's outfit I took inspiration from the beautiful Olivia Palermo, in particular her wedding dress. This look is rather girly and not something I'm used to however I really liked the neutral colour pallet and the way the outfit just came together with minimal effort. I unfortunately still do not have access to my usual camera but I think the pictures came out just fine all the same! My mum was also pretty happy with her ootd and so I took a few snaps of it too. I think this look is casual enough to wear day to day but by simply adding some statement jewelry and a pair of nude heels it would be perfect for a more dressy occasion! Although I am a lover of my monochromatic looks I think its fun to mix it up every now and again. Fashion is meant to be fun and often times the best outfits come together when the least amount of thought is put into them! The dress is from RiverIsland and by itself is a beautiful piece but pairing it with a cropped sweater completely changes up the look! I hope you like the post feel free to comment and follow me on Bloglovin (let me know if you do and I'll be sure to follow back!)

mmm...tea and scones!

mams little ootd!

Foundation For Freckles

Let me begin by saying that I am in no way a beauty expert and that in general makeup is not really something that I play around with too much! I'm not one for dramatic eyes or outrageous lip colours I prefer a more natural look, but if there is one thing I know a little something about its foundation! Firstly I have oily/combination skin and as the title would suggest freckles...Lots of Freckles! Not the kind that only come out in the summer oh no my freckles last all year long and cover pretty much my entire face. I have over the years become a little more comfortable in my own skin and grown to like them however they do cause a bit of bother when it comes to foundation. Nevertheless throughout the years I have tried and tested a number of different foundations (mainly drugstore brands) and I have found a few that I love!

1. L'oreal True Match
This foundation has to be hands down one of my favourite drugstore foundations. It has a very light consistency and gives light to medium coverage but is defiantly buildable. It also has a slight powdery texture so that it doesn't look too oily on the skin. Recently I have been using the L'oreal Lumi Magique foundation which is in my opinion very similar in formulation except that it is a tad more luminous on the skin as the name would suggest but overall the two are practically identical. The reason I love this foundation so much is because it is lightweight, this being one of the main qualities I look for in a foundation. Heavier foundations tend to make me look rather cakey.

Available here

2. Clinique Superbalanced Makeup

This foundation is a bit more on the pricey side but I love it none the less. Again this foundation is lightweight but buildable to a medium coverage. I would recommend to those of you out there with freckles and pale skin to go with a foundation a shade darker than your natural skin colour to avoid making your freckles look ashy, using a lightweight foundation also helps this!

Available here

3. Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream

This is the first CC cream that I have tried so I cant say that I am all too educated in the field however I do really like this particular product. Again it is lightweight and buildable. It does leave the skin looking slightly oily and as for the colour correction part I am not too sure whether it does in that department! However it odes have SPF15 which is great for those of us with pale skin!

Available here

4. Revlon Nearly Naked
This is my most recent purchase but I am already really liking this foundations it has all the qualities I look for in a foundation without leaving my skin too oily looking, although I still apply a pit of powder around my T-zone as that area can be particularly problematic for me! I apply this foundation with my real techniques expert face brush and smooth the look out with the Miracle Complexion Sponge as I do with all my foundations and it fives me a pretty flawless look!

Now having gone through my favourite foundations and thrown in a few tips and tricks here and there I thought I would just quickly touch on foundations that I feel are best avoided! Firstly most heavy coverage foundations just don't work for me they tend to make my freckles look ashy and just give me a cakey look without even applying much product. I find that Revlons Colourstay and MAC foundations (bar Face and Body) are just too heavy for my skin. There's no point in trying to completely cover your freckles especially if your a freckle face like myself, you're better off concentrating on colour correction and adding a bit of concealer if you rally need to cover something up! I am also not a fan of the Revlon Photoready as this foundation almost has fine glitters in it that make it look like there is too much going on on my face if that makes any sense!
Anyways I hope this helped some of you out! As always thank you for checking out my blog.

So its been 10 days since I last posted and no I am not the least bit happy with myself about it!! I really wanted to get into a steady cycle of producing at least 2 posts a week but unfortuneately this just hasn't happened! I do however have a slight excuse that being my boyfriend/person who takes all my blog photos is gone inter-railing for 3 weeks so until he gets back I am not too sure what I am going to do! Neverthess I did have a little post in reserve for times like this and here it is! The outfit is a suuuper casual one pretty much my idea of a lazy day outfit as I am not a fan of tracksuit bottoms. I wasnt overly pleased with how the outfit photographed but hey beggers cant be choosers and for now it will have to do! I will leave the outfit details below and provide links where possible!!

I dont have too much to say about this outfit other than it really captures the look that I am currently trying to go for, simple, minimalistic and chic. I absolutely LOVE the heels! I am a shoe lover and have a particular attraction to anything Black! haha. This outfit is perfect for a night out or for a fancier summertime event. Through on a white blazer to make the look more night-time appropriate or to simply achieve the "co-ord" look! Keeping the jewellery simple adds to the clean cut look, I've just added a few silver bands from Primark. As always I will list all the items below!

Bralet - Forever21
Skirt - Bershka

So todays outfit is actually one which I wore on my trip to Barcelona (minus the boots!). Unfortuneatley I didnt get to photograph it while I was there so  thought id just recreate the look as I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I wore this outfit to Sonar, a music festival which was on in Barca while I was over there. It was a night time event and it was indoors however seeing as it was warm even at night I wanted to keep the look breathable, something comfortable that I could dance around all night in! The floral dress is from Forever21. It's pretty sheer so I wore shorts underneath. Its a perfect piece to wear as a bikini cover-up to a pool party! I kept the jewlery to a minimum as sweat + suncreen really tarnishes your jewlery ( a lesson i learned the hard way!). I will list all the items down below and provide links where possible! Anyways thanks for checking out my blog!!

Necklaces - Primark
Boots - Topshop

Primark AW14

So I am personally never a huge fan of Primarks Spring Summer collection. Althought they do bring out some decent pieces I feel that these are far and few between. On the other hand I feel that their AW collection is always on point and it looks like this year is no exception. Having seen some of the press release photos I just couldn't wait to do this post. The collection seems to heavily play on some trends that we have already seen emerge this year such as pastel pink and oversized coats. I also noticed two pairs of thigh high suede boots which I am pretty much drooling over! and a ton of different textures from fur to scuba and plenty of knits! Check out the images below for yourself..
WARNING....You might want to buy everthing!!

Ughhh sooo amazing!! Hurry up Winter!!
